INTEGRATING ESG IN THE WORKPLACE

Sustainability is Everyone’s Responsibility!

Metro Green’s ‘Integrating Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) in the Workplace’ programme provides a critical understanding of relevant environmental, social and governance issues affecting businesses. This understanding will enable participants to contribute to their roles in the organization, respective activities and build buy-in (acceptance of and willingness to actively support and participate in company’s plan or policy) for the company’s strategy.

Learning Outcome

Upon completion of the programme, participants will be more engaged and invested in their work, thus contributing to higher productivity and lower attrition for the company. This ‘fun, engaging and fulfilling’ workshop is designed into Part 1 and Part 2. The details are shown as follows: –

PART 1: TEAM SIMULATION

The objective of Part 1 of the programme is to stimulate teamwork and improve cooperation among team members. This part of the programme does not only fulfil feeling of social responsibility but also inculcate team strategies, team leadership, team communication, time management.

This programme will be carried out through ‘Corporate Social Responsibility’ (CSR) activities by encouraging participants to make a concerted effort to enhance the society / community and the environment. The CSR activity in this programme includes community volunteering in homes for the aged and infirm; homeless shelters; charitable hospitals; or schools.

PART 2: TEAM ENGAGEMENT IN ESG

Module 1: Introduction to ESG

This module introduces what ESG is about and why companies should adopt ESG. The increasing global issues that impact our future, such as disasters cause by climate change (e.g., extreme weather, diminishing sea ice, record-breaking warmth, drought, fire, severe storm, rising ocean and stress to ecosystem) and man-made disasters (e.g., hazardous materials, fire) is a call to action to not only protect the environment but also the society and the economy.

Module 2: Global Initiatives for Sustainable Development & UN SDGs

This module introduces what ESG is about and why companies should adopt ESG. Module 3: 'G' in ESG

Module 3 explains the meaning of ‘G’ in ESG. ‘G’ basically means ‘governance’ and refers to whether a company managed its business in a responsible way Participants will be introduced to the elements of governance, thus will have a better understanding of ‘governance’. This module will also introduce participants to the international standards and reporting pertaining to ESG and discuss on the basics of sustainability reports undertaken by corporations to communicate with their key stakeholders about their sustainability strategies.

Module 4: Industry Case Studies - KPI Indicators & Reporting

Module 4 presents the participants with some industry case studies, which enable them to have some hands on experience on sustainability reporting. The case studies encompass the three key elements of ESG, namely environmental, social and governance.

Module 5: Team Work on Sustainability

This module does not only push the employees to work with each other on instilling sustainable practices in their organization but also empowers them with new knowledge, skills and methods to promote and implement sustainable practices.
